I often use Tools/Formula Auditing/Trace Precedents to see visually via the blue lines that appear what cells are being referenced by a formula. However, when the formula references cells on other tabs, a line appears with a little icon attached to it but I don't know how to get it to show me the cells. Clicking on it does nothing and going to the page I know the cells are on shows me nothing. Any tips?

I have version 2000 so I haven't checked 2002, 2003 but when you do a "trace precedents" you will see a spreadsheet icon. DON'T click on the icon, click on the black round endpoint and up pops a GOTO window showing the references on the other sheet. You then can select one of the references and jump to it.

Click on the line going to the icon, and not the icon itself, that also pops up a GOTO window showing the references on the other sheet. You then can select one of the references and jump to it.

Cheers, Glenn.

Did you hear about the literalist show-jumper? He broke his nose jumping against the clock.
