Hi any one any ideas on how to get win 98 to logon to server 2000 with active directory? I can logon to server 2000 from win 98 but cannot get the active directory bit to work, is it possible is there a fix or do I just have to try and fit XP or win 2000 on my older machines on the net work. I have sever 2000 and win XP pro running on it, but I would like to use some of my older machines (I am tech in a school with a limited budget)Any help please. [pc3]
Some lead, some follow....I just Hope!

Win98 will not process AD group policy. however, you can use the old-style ntconfig.pol to secure things if necessary. i'd go with the upgrade if at all possible.

so active directory user profilesgroup policy won't work? If so whats the point. I need to have a secure corporate desktop acroos the school XP and server 2000 allows this I just need some way of using older win 98 machines on this Server 2000 active directory Group policy network but it looks as if I cannot Some lead, some follow....I just Hope!

Win98 is inherantly unsecure, so the best move is to remove it from the network.
