I'm using a topology where we have a MS Ver. 2.0 Proxy Server before the Internet Firewall.
This Proxy is used for caching and as well as authentication (we use Windows password to get access Internet), the problem is that I haven't found the way to use/configure the proxy in the client in order to access via Internet any other protocol different to basics as HTTP, Telnet, FTP, for instance we need to use real player, real audio, and some other.
Also, some times trying to download files from web, just using the admin password for the proxy server, we can download the files, but using users accounts.

Does any one have an idea ?
Thanks

How did you even get Telnet and FTP to work?? I need to do this before tomorrow!!

You can get Microsoft Proxy 2 to work with ANYTHING. Simply load up Microsoft Proxy Client. It replaces your WINSOCK with a modified one.
SOCKS must be running on the proxy.
Then the clients can ccess the net almost like they are routed. It's a kludge but it works very well.

Watch out when installing MS PROXY client though, as if your proxy is on a dial-up, clients can keep the connection open. Also they can now run file sharing apps, etc!!!
