Every month our client will receive many monthly reported excel documents from their subsidiary companies. Then they'll upload these excel documents to the server through an upload page. It's a b/s system that helps to parse upon excel files and store corresponded data into the database.

But now the problem is that if there are 100 excel files, they they have to repeat the upload action for 100 times. It drives them crazy. So, they want to select upon 100 files at the same time in the File Selection dialog and upload them just at one time?

They're right. E.g. if u need to open 100 files that located in the same folder, then you'll find it's very convenient for u to do this by MicrosoftWord or ultraedit. But, how can we implement this easy-upload requirement in our b/s system?

Thanks your reviewing my question and ur so kind help. Thanks!

ever heard of zip files (pkzip or winzip) or jar or tar or any file compression tools?

Do you meant to package these excel documents in the client side manually firstly, then upload this package to the server and unpackage it in the server side?

It's better than repeat 100 times the same upload action and now we're planning to adpot this method firstly. Thank you palbano, thanks your advice.

But please don't be hesitated to let me know if you have any other convenient ways to meet our client's need. Thanks again.

Vincent

If u think u can, then u can!

Well there is the old way using an FTP Server instead of a Web server. Transfering files is what it is meant for. There are all sorts of freeware client FTP applications that make transfers as easy as drag and drop with rich Windows Explorer type interfaces.

In Windows XP the Windows Explorer will do FTP drag and drop natively on local area networks.
