How to turn off Windows key?

Hi,
on Windows XP SP3 when pressing Windows-key and releasing it the Start menu appears. Is there any way I could disable Start menu appear?

I would need "disable option" because I am using VirtualBox and use Windows key as keyboard-shortcut.

Two clicks on the Windows Key would make the Start Menu appear then disappear.

You can Disable the Windows Key, but if you did that I am not sure how it would effect any application that used the Window Key. Can you change such an applications use and need of the key?

Hi,
I don't want to disable Windows-key (I need this key in my program), I would just like to disable "start menu appearance". So is there any way to have enabled Windows-key, but disable Start menu appearance when clicking on it and releasing it?
