How to stop Spam Mail messages from using IMS Relay 1

Someone else is using my exchange server 5.5 to relay emails.
Can you please help me how to restrict for anonymous SMTP relay because it has created high traffic on my system.

Is it possible that only my domain emails should be relayed ( @domain-name.com ) so that no oneelse can use my exchange to relay emails.

Please suggest me the steps to restrict unknown users.

I tried with this after reading link.
My company domain is xyz.com
I want only those emails should go whose domain is @xyz.com
no body else should be able to relay using my exchange.
I hope you understood my problem.

If you only have the one domain, you don't need to relay emails, just accept them.

Read my FAQ in this forum on stopping your server being used as a relay server.

I have done this as the article and MS papers. But still have some spams going on. There must be something missing. I am working on it. By the way, do anyone else have same problem? It's not about whether you can do it or not, it's about HOW

I've implemented my FAQ on a number of servers and it stops the spam. Are you sure you followed all of the items?

I double checked the setting in my machine, with your FAQ. The only exception is: I selected Routing Restrictions with the option labelled 'Hosts and clients with these IP addresses' and left the table empty as suggested at:

Well, I specified the IPs and Masks in Restrictions Table. It worked. I think that is the right way to go !!! It's not about whether you can do it or not, it's about HOW

I spoke with a Microsoft Exchange "Connections" tech support person who told me to also check the
"Hosts and client that successfully authenticate" ck box.

When I enquired about "Hosts and Clients with these IP addresses" he suggested I not "go there".

Any further comments on his suggestions? Exchange Administrator

Under Routing Restrictions

you need to click and check on the box Hosts and Clients that successfully authenticated

and that will work
i had the same problem but i managed to resolve it this way
