is there any way to prevent items going into a mailboxes sent items folder.

EG, we use an account to send sql server notification emails. The account places an item in the sent items folder of that account every time one is generated. I want to find a way to stop this.

Can you help?

I believe you can just log into the account that your using to send the e-mails "from", and set the properties in Outlook to not keep a copy in Sent Items (Tools/Options/E-mail Options)

That's kind of what i want, but not quite. Your suggestion disables sent mail folder from one particular copy of Outlook.

I would like the account to not register anything in sent items no matter which PC logs into the account. For example, if i logon to the account using outlook web access I also do not want it to save sent items

Can this be done do you know?

I believe that option is a client side option, not a server side option. Therefore, you'd have to set the option for any client that is performing this task.

Install the mailbox maintenance service and configure it for that mailbox, schedule it as you please to delete for instance all messages older then 1 day. If the solution is here, let us know it was helpful so others can benefit from it as too
