how to speed up the booting process of windows 2000 professional

You may just be loading an inordinate amount of programs at startup. Check your Start-Programs-Startup to see how many programs are firing from there, also look at your icons at the lower right next to the time...anything that shows up there is loading at startup and will affect your boot time.

You also may have a network card who isn't pluged and search for a dhcp, in this case, assign it a fix ip
