How can i shutdown windows 98 automaticly

Now it shows the massage'Its Now Safe to Turn Off Your Computer'

I want the computer to shut down automaticly

I have a Deskpro EP 810E/P667 COMPAQ computer and I think the chipset is caplable of shuttingdown using the windows software.

Please help me
 
You haven't bothered to look for previous posts on the same subject , nor at the FAQs, nor on the web with a google search, right?

There is a huge amount of help available in those places. Try them.

Some older Pc's don't have that capability......and that message you get tells me the BIOS isn't suited for that......as far as I know....
Maybe......just maybe with an Updated BIOS...you can
The whole Power Management issue is quite complicated....and with ACPI.......even more so.....

ps...you could always plug it into a power strip with a on/off switch.....(ofcourse only after shutting down Win. properly)
