Can someone give me an idea of how they do it ?

on SQL Server go to maintenance plan and use the wizard. Check out the SQL Server forum for specific problems. Once the DBs have been dropped to file, use BE to back those up.

pctekk,

I assume you are using BE 9.1. There is a very nice utility that the Backup Exec folks shipped with the product. It's located in c:\program files\veritas\backup exec\nt\, its called BEuility.exe.

It has many database utility function and much more. The dump feature is one of them. Give at shot, but I recommend that you be careful with it. It is a pretty powerful tool.
