How to return my 2k server to Win2k?

I had to convert an IBM NetVista desktop running Win2k to Win2k server. (don't ask: Dilbert syndrome) Now the pointy haired boss wants the desktop back again, but I'm unable to run the IBM restore utility (just says there was an error) and of course I can't downinstall from Servr to 2k. Any ideas on what I can do, short of running fdisk? There doesn't appear to be a Setup program at boot so I can't even configure the CD to be a boot device.
