My computer programs all run OK.

But, no programs are displayed in Control Panel/ADD/Remove programs, first page unless I reinstall them.

Short of re-installing W98 O/S, is there a program that will straighten it out?

I have tried TweakUI. No luck.

If I re-install the O/S, will the Add/Remove programs problem be corrected?

scanreg/ restore... at command prompt for the
registry.a good start for fixing corrupt
files is scandisk.exe.

Add/Remove programs will not be restored by reinstalling the OS.

Somehow this list must have been deleted from the uninstall list in the registry.

Normally, the registry is backed up for the previous 5 days that the PC has been used.

You can restore the add/remove list (if lost within the 5 day period) by restarting in MS-DOS mode and at the prompt typing "scanreg /restore" <NoQuotes>
Then choosing the appropriate date to restore.

Anything that may have been 'installed' between then and now will need to be reinstalled.

Good Luck!
