I don't know whether this is a hardware or a driver problem, but in the process of getting an All-in-Wonder Pro to output video to a VCR, the vertical refresh rate for all the system stuff and the Windows startup graphic, has got set to 30Hz, leaving about 60% of the screen being used.

I have tried all the regular stuff, reloading drivers, setting different refresh rates, changing display settings, etc but nothing changes it. It's no real biggy, it doesn't effect Windows (98) or Dos in Windows, it's just plain annoying. BTW it's an OEM 21" monitor, don't know who makes it. Suggestions?

You can slap me if you like, LOL, but have you tried the monitor vert and horz settings??
Every day above ground is a GOOD DAY!!!

rtshort,
There is no place to adjust the scan rates but no slap cos I'm allergic to violence, it brings me out in bruises.

kwunder,
Thanks for the link, somewhere in the ballpark since it told me the scan rates for vanilla VGA.

It seems that this is one of those triumphs of technology, the monitor has a number of presets and space for some user settings. Seems when the computer crashed once it was trying to emulate standard vga, and the monitor duly obliged by saving the new settings, and making them the default. Helpful! Next step is to get in touch with the company I bought it from to see if they know how to reset it. If I find out, or if anyone else knows, a post will appear.

PS Yes, I know, it should have said 30kHz :p
