Good evening folks! I'm trying to reset a voicemail password since a user doesn't know the password for it.
We Have Meridian x11 rel.22

Did I mentioned that i don't know nothing about this PBX?
Can you please give a "step by step" answer if possible?

Thanks a lot!

Before we go too far, do you know how to connect to the voice mail system and do you know the password to administer that system? If not, we'll be of little help.

The voice mail system is a separate system from the PBX.

I use Hyper Terminal via modem to log in the system and yes i know that they're separate systems...

Great, then log into MerMail, then User Admin, then Local Voice User, follow the menus to enter the mailbox number, View/Modify and change the password. Sounds like you are halfway there.

But I believe that I'm logging into the pbx system not into the Voicemail system... how should i go to the VM?

Ahaa! So I was right all along :)

If you are a "small" system, like the Option11 (not X11 - thats software version), then you can type "AX" after you are logged into the PBX.

To exit from Mail, log out, then Ctrl-] (Control-rightbracket) to return to the PBX

hmmm... I tried the AX command at the > prompt after logging in the PBX and this is what I get…

And yes, I have a Meridian 1 option 11 that has the software release 22

OK, here we go again... I was able to change many other users passwords but not to the one that i need to change...

any idea of why?

rookie4it...what is the extension you want to change the
password for?have you listed the extension in vm to make
sure it is a user?or could it be the 2nd mw dn for another
extension?

no problems only solutions

If you were able to change it from the terminal, but the user still complains of the same problem, take a look at the fields near the end of the Mailbox screen and look for something like "Status - Mailbox Disabled" and toggle that to turn it back on.

Yeah!

it was because the Mailbox was set as follows...
Logon Status: Disabled

Thank a lot anyway!!

only one more question on this issue... why i'm not able to select the fifth option on the softkeys menus?
it is selected with F5 or another key?

rookie4it...got to your keyboard mapping and edit f5 key
to ^[OM that should get it to work.
