Hi there,

I built the following network for about a month:

domain name: example.com
domain controller: w2k (running dns, file & print, etc)
member server: w2k3 (running TS, TS lic server, citrix, etc)

For some reason (ok, it's my fault for poor planning), now I have to change the domain name from "example.com" to "example.lan", wondering how can I acheive this without re-installation?

Million thanks in advance!

You have to remove all servers from the domain using dcpromo (members servers first then dc's).

You can then reinstall AD with the correct naming convention. Its a pain to do but this is how it can be achieved.

You can create a new domain with the correct name and use ADMT to migrate from the old domain to the new.
