How to remove the format arrows

Our office just upgraded to Windows XP with Office 2003. Now all my excel files are showing a green arrow in some of the cells to let me know that these are "text" format.

Is there any way to remove those green arrows?

If you really want to ignore numbers stored as text ( why would you ???? ), then do menu command Tools/Error Checking/Options and untick the Number Stored As Text checkbox.
