How to remove ProductID from win2000

How to remove the productid from windows 2000 pro. so you have to write your licence number and name after restart.
In win9x you just remove the "productid" and "Username"in regedit.exe and the first time you start windows after you can not do enything before pressing the license number. But it dont Work in windows 2000 pro

Please Help.

That will not work with Windows 2000 because the Product key is not openly stored in the registry. It is a hexadecimal setting in the registry some where. I do not know where. You will not be able to do what you are proposing as far as I know. Could be wrong. What is it you are doing? Ghosting using 1 image? If so you should use the sysprep tool with Windows 2K. This allows you to do the very thing attempting to do I believe. James Collins

Try to use sysprep it will allow you to reenter the product code unfortunatly you will also have reconfigure all of the network setting also.

I installed XP (Home Edition) on same drive as W2000.

Is there a way to now remove W2000??
