So remove it from the domain.. are we talking about a standalone PC? Like a winxp or 98 machine? If so, all you gotta do is disjoin (if that's even a word) the domain it's signing into and join a workgroup or another domain..

To remove a Domain Controller from Active Directory simply run DCPROMO to demote it to a Member Server. Then you can remove it from the Domain if you need to.
Be careful you still have another DC in the domain, or running dcpromo will destroy your domain, as it will remove the ad from the server. If this is the only DC, guess what, no more AD = no more domain! Otherwise Patty is correct, and Win 2000 allows a Dc to be demoted to a stand alone server, which can then be moved anywhere, even into another domain, where it could be dcpromoed again back to a DC in the new domain. Could not do this with NT 4.0 or earlier systems.
