I would like to display the crystal report with borders around every cell like in Excel. Is there an option that I can select so that I don't have to put borders around each field one by one?
You can lasso the fields by clicking white space in your report, and then dragging the pointer diagonally to the other side so it captures all your fields. Choose format field, and then go for it.
Bear in mind that when you multi-select fields, that not only do all the fields adopt the format details of the last field selected, but they all sacrifice their conditional formulas for that of the last field too.
Thanks Naith,
But I have a problem with eliminating the gaps between the cells. Even when I make the detail section match the height of my field, there's still a gap in between each field on the top and bottom. Do you know what I can do about this?
If there's no space whitespace between the top/bottom of your field and then box the fields, you'll still see a tiny gap (like a fraction of a mm) between each row. If you're gap's bigger, check you don't have a details a/b split.
It sounds to me like you're trying to mimic a grid appearance. If this is the case, why don't you use a cross tab?
Naith,
I'm creating a report with 3 columns that are doing diff calc on diff fields. One is to do a count of field 1, 2nd col is to do a sum of field 2, 3rd col is sum of field 3. All these needs to be group for different categories listed on the left. This wouldn't be a good cross tab report right?
