Hi!
I am having a sheet with about 8000 rows.
In column 3 I do have kind of groupnumbers identifying records belonging to each other.
Is there a way to have a print-out in a way that a set of rows is printed on a new sheet once the value in column 3 changes? Value in column3 is like A01 or A02 etc.

Hi,

PRINTING is done by an I/O device on something like paper. (File/Print)

Did you want to COPY some data from one sheet to another? (Edit/Copy)

Maybe. A pivot table with that field thrown into the Page fields would allow you to use the 'Show Pages' option to create separate sheets and tables for each group. You could then just select all the sheets together and hit print and that might give you what you want.

Ken,
Thanks for your serious reply.
I never worked with a pivot table before.
I tried some and found up to now that the result is only showing numeric data. Is that how it should be?
My data comprises lots of text I loved to have it 'grouped' printed.
With databases like Access or Visual Foxpro it's quit easy to manage but as others also have to work with this excel sheet and access and VFP are to difficult for them to use I have to continue on Excel or some like that.

Then on your OTHER sheet, take a look at MS Query via Data/Get External Data/New Database Query -- Excel Files -- YOUR WORKBOOK -- YOUR SOURCE DATA SHEET....

... and complete the query using the criteria for the GROUP of interest.

Once added to a sheet, a QueryTable need not be RE-ADDED. You need only Data/Refresh data to get updated stuff.

You the GROUP will vary, then a Parameter Query might be in order.

You can have textual data in theer but it really depends on how many columns you are talking, and it is probably no more than 7 or so.

That having been said, if your data is sorted on that field then you might want to take a look at Data / Subtotals, subtotal on that field and then tick the option that says 'Page Break between groups'. leaves your data in the format it's in now and will probably be a lot easier.

Why not just use the Data\Subtotals and count the records in column 3 and check the "Page break between groups" check box?

Thanks and best regards,
