Hi,

in IE some links after clicking on them automaticaly opens new IE window and display a new web page in that new window. Is there any way to prevent opening a page in new IE window? May be pressing some key?

Thanks,
Grofaty

Go to control panel then select internet options click the advanced tab......under browsing check the box that says "reuse windows for launching shortcuts". That may help you.

nope, that only works for some things.

what causes the opening of a new page depends on the code in the page you are currently on and the new page you are clicking on.

ruffnredy, sorry for my lack of information. The option you have written I already have turned on.

I was asking more like eyec suggested: how to control "code based" opening of window?

linney, the tab browsing will not solve the problem. Instread of new window a new tab will be opened which is the same problem in new way.

I have some sites that I would like to read (let sys 10 sites), but I need to click on each of them on one link and the site is programed so that it is opened in the new windows and I would like to be opened in the same windows. So after 10 clicks I would like to have 10 windows (or tabs in IE7) and not 20 windows (or tabs in IE7).

Is there any key to prevent opening the page in new window, just the opposite of shift key + click = opening in new window?
