I can't believe I can't do this - I have tried and tried to organise my favourites into alpha order but cannot (automatically).
I have even tried copying them out to another directory, deleting them, then copying back - bit still they remain in a "semi unsorted" order.

What is the trick (short of going through hundreds, one by one and rearranging them)?

Appreciate any/all help !

Favorites > Open Folder until drop menu displays all Favorites within the folder > right click in this area > Sort by Name .... repeat for each folder

Sorry - I can't find what you are talking about.
I have arranged my favourites in a series of FOLDERS (Must be more than 100). I just want to get the FOLDERS into alphabetical order.

Any Ideas ??

Click on Start>>>Favorites>>and "right click" anywhere on the gray menu and click on "Sort by name". It's at the bottom of the list above properties. It will sort everything in order--even your folders.

Sorry again - I am using XP Professional which doesn't seem to have the menu item you are talking about - I am still in the dark ....

Howdy:

Start IE.. Now, click on the "favorites" menu item at the top..

Now, pull your mouse cursor down to ANY folder.. RIGHT CLICK on that folder.. Now, LOOK !!!! Right at the bottom of THAT Windows is "Properties".. Right above that is "SORT BY NAME".. Click that.. Can't get anymore detailed without being right there ...

BTW, I also use XP Pro and that is EXACTLY hoe I do it !!!

Okay, maybe this is where you are missing it. If you don't have Favorites listed in your start menu, click on the Favorites at the top of Internet Explore--NOT the favorites that has a folder next to it, but the Favorites that is listed with File, View, Favorites, Tools, and Help. Click on that Favorites and you will get the drop down menu. Then right click on any area in the drop down menu and you will see "Sort by name" at the bottom. If you don't see this, then I don't know what to tell you.

Sorry - I'm just not getting this.
I have Windows XP Professional - there is no Favorites under the Start Button.
If I open Explorer and Click Favorites I get 2 options Add and Organize.

Under Organize I can DRAG each entry to where I want it - that's NOT what I want to do as I have hundreds of folders - All I want to do is sort them alphabetically
(which it seems the wonderful XP does NOT have an option for).

I GOT IT ! - I GOT IT !

Thanks a million - I kept seeing the OTHER FAVORITES (next to search)
