Hello,

I'd like to optimize restore time using the disk pool. The only command I found is "move node data", this command will move all data from a node to the storage pool, but I would like to move only the files (bkup & archive) necessary for "this" restore of a node. I don't need inactive files and old archive.

Thanks for your help

So you're trying to move only the files required for a particular restore from a different storage pool (tape pool?) to your disk pool?

Can't be done..

If you have more than one drive, try restoring with multiple sessions to speed up restores:

q node <nodename> f=d

See if Maximum mounts is greater than 1. If not:

update node <nodename> maxnummp=2 (or some value - this is the number of tapes that will be mounted in the drives)

Do the restore, then reset manummp back to one so that it doesn't take up too many drives when backing up.

Just a thought

Yrrk : Yes that's what I would like to do

ProbablyDown : I already done that, but didn't see multiple sessions. I finaly found that I also have to change the "resourceutilization" parameters in the dsm.sys, but the restore was already running.

anyway, thanks for your answers.
