Tiger Woods PGA 2003 needs certain ports to be
open,I got an error message saying-cant connect
to game server,FAQ for this game referes to
the need for some ports to be open which a few are
HTTP 80,HTTPS 443/both inbound,how can I
check for/open these ports?..........

First, we need to know what's blocking them - it could be your ISP, a router, or a firewall.

i am a novice,i dont know how to see if there
blocked or not,i dont knowingly have
anything installed like anitvirus/firewall/
antispam/etc, a simple win98se/modem/aol is
what i have.

First, don't forget that (if you are using) XP has a built-in firewall. Also, many antivirus software comes with a firewall which may be installed unless you tell it not to. If you don't have a firewall, it must be AOL, but I wouldn't expect that.

theres a few tests you can do, download a port scanner from and have fun seeing whats open and whats not.

or..try to telnet to your ip, eg
telnet <ip address> 80 (you can change the 80 to any number you want.

Do you have a dsl/cable router on your network? In other words are you using a private network sharing a single DSL connection?
