I have a section whose size never changes while its content does, and I want the section size to adapt to the content so that I don't have a big blank in the middle of my report. I've selected 'delete empty sections' already but it doesn't seem to work.
Any idea?
Thanks a lot

What version of Crystal? What section is it that is not sizing for you? What is it that is in the section that is growing inside of it? (Is it a subreport or, a chart, or just data fields...?)

If you have "Can Grow" fields/subreports...Don't allow space in the section for the size of the field...bring the border of the section bottom up to the "can grow" field...then the section will expand as it needs. Jim

What version of Crystal? it's Crystal 8.0
What section is it that is not sizing for you? a detail section
What is it that is in the section that is growing inside of it? it's a formula that selects certains data field, there can be up to 6 ones.
hope this helps to help me!
cheers

ok, the details section will always grow to accommodate what is inside of it.

What I would try is this:

create your formula so that if the result of it does not exist, it will throw out a 0...so that it will populate over and over again...

EXAMPLE: if blah blah blah then blah blah blah
ELSE 0

NOTE: make sure that if the formula result is numeric you use 0 and if the result is text you use the "0" ...

put it in your details section, and then do a conditional suppression on your details section where the recordnumber >6.

this will mean you will always see 6 lines of data - but you can suppress those ugly 0's (which shouldnt be there anyway, they re just holding the spot for you) and it will
"fix" the length of the details section.

will this work? hope it helps! LMC cryerlisa@hotmail.com
