how to make proxy working on win 2000 server 1

Hi, I have win 2000 server connceted internet (dial up), and another pc use win 98. I need share the internet through proxy. On 98 IE connection I set 'use proxy server', 'Proxy address to use: 192.168.0.1(2000 server's IP), port: 1080', but iternet can't be shared out. Both machines can ping each other. Did I miss some thing? Thanks.

Why do you use port 1080 ?
This port is usually used for socks proxy.

on a normal setup, http would use port 80

hi,
did u enable sharing of the network interface which you use to connect to the internet.
go to My network places->properties, select the device and rightclick properties, go to sharing tab and select the option Enable internet connection sharing for this connection.
