whenever I click on a jpg file, photo paint opens a new window to show the file. is it possible to show all pictures in the same window? like in adobe acrobat - no matter how many pdf documents I open, they always open in the same window
There is no way to do this. A PDF is *one* document with one ore more pages. A pixel graphic is *one* dokument with *one* page.
You could create a document in Corel Draw and insert at very page another jpg. Or you could use the picture browser of Corel Draw or the open dialog to view a preview of any picture.
And at least you could create an new document in Corel Photo Paint and add every jpg as a new object in his own level.
All this ways may be not what you want, but this is IMO simply because your wish comes from an misunderstanding of the idea of a document.
I think you misunderstand me. Let's use another example - the Opera browser opens all websites in the same window. Internet explorer opens new windows for every single website. What I want is Photopaint to behave like opera - to open all photos in the same photopaint window. If you know German, what I mean is "alle Dokumente in derselben Instanz öffnen". Hell knows what it is called in English, maybe "same instance"?
Open explorer.
> In the View menu, choose FileTypes or Folder Options, then FileTypes if
> applicable.
> In the Registered filetypes, Choose CorelPhotoPaint10.
> Click Edit.
> Select the "open" function, and click Edit.
> Check "Use DDE"
> In the DDE Message box, type: [open("%1"]
> In the Application box, type: PHOTOPNT
> In the Topic box, type: System
> Do not worry about the "application not running" box.
> OK your way back home.
>
> Repeat the steps for CorelDRAW 10, CorelDRAWExchangeGraphic10 and CorelRAVE
> document types, using the following values in the DDE settings... (be sure
> to edit the OPEN action, not import)
thanx so much!! I nearly despaired waiting for an answer.
just changed the *.jpg file type settings according to your instructions, and it works great.
