How to make icons on Vista desktop smaller? 1

Because of my older video card, I can't increase the resolution any higher than 1280 by 1024 pixels at 75Hertz so I wonder if there is a way to make the icons on the desktop to look smaller.

While viewing the Desktop, depress and hold down the CTRL Key and use the Mouse Wheel to adjust the Icon size.
