how to install

Hello,

I know virtually nothing about installing Oracle 8i clients and would like to find about unattended installations.

I have seen samples on the net of people just copying over a bunch of files and automatically creating registry files and some people use install shield. Somehow I think that there is more to in than this.

The Oracle site certainly has not been any help. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Using the word "silent" never occured to me. I was looking for "oracle unattend"...all I got was 8000 hits of junk.

Other Google searches I did not use:
"oracle magic"
"make it so even a manager can install oracle"
"oracle installs rule"
"oracle magic"
"oracle lazy install"

there were a bunch of other things that similarily match up with "oracle silent" but I do not have time to go through the list. : -)
