Hi, I have a data file in Excel which matches the structure of a btrieve table. How can I import the Excel data to the Btrieve table?
Thank you.
Gary

What version of Pervasive/Btrieve are you using?
Do you have DDFs for the data file?
If so and you're using Pervasive.SQL 2000 or V8, you can export the Excel data to CSV and then import it using the Import Wizard.
If you don't have DDFs or don't have an ODBC driver, you can use the Btrieve API and write (or have written) a program to read the Excel files and write it to the Btrieve file.

Mirtheil,
Thank you for your reply. I did not make my question clear. We are using an accounting package that uses Btrieve 6.15 on NW3.12 server and have the DDF files. but we don't have the import wizard, because the application does not come with it.
We have Sqlscope, MS access ODBC can connect to the Btrieve tables, but slow. Where can I get the import wizard?
Gary

Another option if you want to give it a try is BtSearch32 at It allows you to import dbase or ascii files into Btrieve. You can export your Excel out to dbase and then use BtSearch32 to import that data.
