Ok guys,
I finally got data coming from my DCE port thru hyperterminal. Now the question is, how do I have it automaticlly make a copy of all the data that its receiving from the PBX. Do I just say capture text and let it capture all the text into the capture.txt in C:\winnt\capture.txt. Will it automaticlly record it into that text file when I have that set to capture. I checked it within 2 minutes of setting the capture text and didn't see any of the information to be captured in that text file. Just wondering if I am doing it right or not.

If anyone can show me the right direction or let me know that I am doing it correctly or incorrectly,I would really appreciate it.

Thanks again. This forum and the people here really rocks............ :)

Sounds to me like you have it set up right. Are you opening up the txt file from windows explorer? If so then you may need to refresh the windows explorer screen. I don't think the windows explorer screen will get updated automatically. I guess what I am trying to say is if you have windows explorer open for any amount of time then you should refresh the screen before opening the file.

Yes,
I have it working thanks to all you guys help. Like you said I had to refresh it but everything seems to be working just as I wanted it. I was able to import it into a excel format also. :)

Sheesh $675 bucks for the 8400b data mod. And its a refurbished one also. Need this dam data mod so I can connect to my pbx to administer the stations. Cost me an arm and a leg to upgrade to R9 so I rather go with this connection. Cost over $1200 bucks for the terronova software so I figure this is a cost savings. Dam avaya makes every cost so much.... :(
