I have a Foxpro program running on Win 2000. This is just one form showing text data. Problem I have is that when the computer is switched on the task bar shows. This is showing untill someone clicks onto the screen.

You will probably be saying "whats the problem with that". The screen is a plasma screen in a shop, displaying information. The computer is tucked away in a cupboard and it is inconvinient for people to get to the machine to click the mouse.

The task bar is set to auto hide and not always on top. I have also tried putting a timer in to run on first startup then do a click procedure after a couple of seconds. The Task Bar still appears. Any ideas how to hide it automatically?

Thanks

HI
I am not clear if you are talking about Win2000 TaskBar.

If you want the VFP application to start as minimised..

In the init event of the Main starting form.. put the code..

This.WindowState = 1 && minimised form status at startup

Providing you know (or the user knows) how to retrieve it, you can srink it almost away from the view, by putting your mouse on it until you get a double-headed arrow and click on the left-mouse (and hold it down). It will go almost below the edge of the screen and stay there. Mike Gagnon

Hi

Mike I know you can hide it by using the mouse. Thats what I do at the moment. Problem I've got is that when the PC is restarted the task bar comes back, if I do it this way. The PC from time to time is restarted (remotely). I then have to get onto PCAnywhere then hide the task bar. There's got to be an easier way.

I want the application to take the whole screen and not show the task bar. It does this at the moment but I do have to manually hide the task bar. The PC running the plasma screen is not used for anything else and access to it is not easy.

Thanks

If i'm getting this right (and it's the windows taskbar that you are trying to hide) why not set it's autohide property to true, that way it should not be visible unless the mouse is right at the bottom of the screen.

Hi, the auto hide is set to true. Perhaps I should be looking at a problem within windows?

HI
Look in
thread184-423788

You can use only the portion related to HideTaskBar which is fine :) ramani :)
