When I search my database for a name, I always have to click "advanced pattern search". Is there any way to set it up so that it does that by default?

Thanks to a few tips in this forum...and a little patience, I've found Paradox 9 very useful. Thanks to all.

Daniel,
No, as far as I know. However, I find that I RARELY use advanced pattern match. What I generally do is just type a partial name followed by two dots, and then hit return key (no mouse clicks!). I use two dots before and after the partial name, if I suspect the name was preceeded with blanks or other characters. Advanced Pattern Match is really only useful when combined with the ^(beginning of string),$(end of string) or |(OR) operators. The others just take too long to think about.
