How to forward extentions to different extentions .

Hello friends ,

We have meridian option 61c . I have a problem & since i am not much of a pbx expert ,I am stuck . The problem is that all calls from outside for our CEO should be redirected to his secretary . This works fine when someone calls his direct number , but if someone calls the board number & then dials his extension then it rings directly to him . People from inside should be able to call him directly on his extensions. He says it was working fine earlier but now it is not. What do I have to do??

Then all calls from outside will go to the secretary, FDN and HUNT can go to VMail for internal calls. Set Secretaries set to CLS SFA so that when the office is closed CEO's calls go to VMail after ringing on secretaries set.

why does he want call forward be call type? i didn't read that in the post. he did post that it worked internal but not external, with more testing he would have found out it worked fdn just not hunt

the otm server is pretty much a waste. i backed up mine and pushed it off the tailgate. other then so-so cdr, i haven't found a reason to turn it back on. cdr is better handled by a script file that dll's to an excel and gives me a spread sheet. i can pull reports on any field or exten

I want to configure it in the same way as the CEO phone i.e the same way of forwarding . Please could you help me configure it . could you guide me what changes i need to do . I would like to forward it to ext 3413.

Chg CLS to FBD(FBA currently will cause troubles with hunting). If you do have OTM you can use it to do Corp. Directory. This is a useful tool on the 3904's. OTM is a good tool for people who are not as familiar with the system. John, and other's who have a chip about OTM, remember a day when Tech's used to know the system and the loads, but they also knew color codes and how to run and cut down cables and tails. Some of the help files that are available when in the terminal mode or overlay passthru can be vary helpful. They give details about the load and what each command response available is. Backing it up would depend on how you use it. For CDR or just station Admin. and how often changes are made to the system.

a very large chip, to be exact. it's a tool for non techs to attempt to program a switch. and it works 90 percent of the time. if 90 percent is acceptable, go for it.. and never use fba for any reason

but the forwarding on my test phone does not seem to work All calls rings on the extention , it does forward after a few rings . I have removed FBA , but no joy .

A couple of things that I noted. You now have CFXA on your CLS. That is for forwarding the calls from that phone to an outside number. Not advisable. I know that Call Forward eXternal Allowed sound like it should be right but it is not the answer. Another thing that I noticed is that you only have one DN programmed. Remove the adl from Key 1 and if you do not want a second DN, leave it blank. If you want the calls to go to ext. 3413 then you have to tell the PBX that. Right now you have calls hunting to itself (3444) that will cause a few problems. Also, your CFW is pointed to the wrong number. Point it to 3413.
