hi there, i have a meridian 1 and i'm trying to figure out how can i do a call forward from the console. we're remodeling and all the customers were moved to shared spaces so i have to forward on a 4:1 ratio (4 users/phones to 1 "receiving" phone), this is a temporary move and i want to know what can i do to have the calls forwarded instantly.
Í don't have any formal training and all i have is the administration guide. i checked the cfw command but that only seems to indicate the number of digits allowed for the forward, also i know i have the MWK but that is for calls going to the Meridian Mail. so... the question again, how can i do a call forward from the console?

You will find there are a number of ways to resolve your issue, but to my knowledge you can't actually forward calls from the Actual Console '2250' - If you think about it why have a console?

It sounds as if you are not too familiar with the Meridian programming but anyway you can do a number of things on inbound calling it all depends what type of service you have from your public operator DDI, COT's etc that determine how to resolve this

We just need a bit more info my friend,
Your type of system, Release of sofware, number of extns, ranges, we maybe able to give you a helping hand on the way forward

Cheers!!

if you have no programming experience nor time to login to a PBX, put the consol on nights, which is press the button that shows a sun/moon pic. this w/send calls to the auto attendant.
that's the quickest thing u can do. this way calls go to a menu and callers can use the dial by name or extension option.
otherwise, changing forwarding on a consol is not simple. it requires u to login to your PBX and go to Load 12, which i'm guessing u have no idea what that means.......

I guess I used the wrong term. By console I meant the programming console (were i enter the commands) and not the 2250.
and about the software and stuff, this is wat I have:
VERSION 1411
RELEASE 21
ISSUE 23 FW09 +

Now that we have some clarificaton and more info to go on for us to help you

If you have Digitals or a mixture of I would suggest, not to be too offensive to you, apply the Forwarding' from your MDF/Frame using the specific Key 'CFW' functions on the appropriate set on each of your TN's/Ports for that period for them to be activated and then take them off again whenever

There are a number of ways to carry out forwarding but again this is dependant on how many sets/numbers etc and ofcourse how to apply this in software from the TTY/CLI (CommandLine)which I guess you have the LOGIN?

You will find with the Nortel PABX there are 1001 ways to do the same thing and also a 1001 ways to get yourself in a mess

Cheers!!

I managed to get on each of the digital TNs and do a manual Forward. as for the Analogs, i don't know what key sequence to dial from the phone to have the CFW active and i can't manage to get it working from the CLI. if anyone know how to print os see what is the sequence (i.e. to lock a pone i dial 47 + lock code, to unlock diual 48 + lock code) to dial for the CFW.
Please help 'cause i have 20+ lines to forward.

Go into LD57 and print out all of your FFC (FlexibleFeatureCodes) this will tell you the sequence of codes for each...I am assuming they are programmed on your switch?

Good Luck
Cheers!!

Yep, and when you want to take it off #1 (FFCT YES) you should get the confirmation tone, just make sure you have the CFW X (amount of digits) programmed within the FTR (Features) of the analogue/s (Type 500)

Cheers!!

HEY I MANAGED TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO CHANGE THE CODE USED FOR THE FEATURE. I JUST NEED TO KNOW WHAT SHOULD I DIAL NOW TO GET IT TO WORK.
