Hi!

Is it possible to force H. not to split only selected word?

Thx

Gupy

Exceptions works for whole document. I would like just to force not to split some word on some places.

The problem is because Quark with extendet h. cannot proper work with my language (Slovene, Italian).

Can I make my own hyphenation file or something like this?

Gupy

Yes, exceptions is whole doc, so either do it that way if you don't want to hyphenate that word at all or do the spaces bit.

Is that the only solution? Spaces????
Hm

Turn Standard H&J's off!!!! If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

Turn it of? Sure, but I want to force Q. not to split only selected words, not whole doc. Thats the problem. Sorry, but not only english text are made with quark, and rules for H. are different in other languages. So I would like to leave it on, check the doc and force Q. not to split only wrong splited words...

If you cant fix it in 20 minutes go take a walk. :)

To keep from splitting a specific word in a specific place, insert a discretionary hyphen (on a Mac, command-hyphen) at start of that word. The discretionary hyphen won't get used (because the word won't split) and the word won't split (because the word could only get split on the discretionary hyphen). This has worked for me on Quark 3.3 and 4.11, and I would assume version 5 as well.
