Hello all, I need to to find out what time I have left to activate WinXP?... I get no reminders and I have no way of determining when.

Please help!

Thanks,

eyespi

Let me re-phrase this question:

Is there a feature built into Winxp that automatically reminds me how much time I have left to activat it? And is there a section in the control panel or anywhere else that will let me manually bring up this info if it is available?

Thank you again!

Until you have activated your copy of Windows XP, an Activate icon appears in the system tray. Reminders will appear periodically during the next 30 days. You can click on the icon to initiate activation. This icon will not appear in the system tray after you have activated Windows XP.

If for some reason the icon isn't there:

The Windows Product Activation Wizard is located in System Tools. To open a system tools item, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Activate Windows.

eyespi,

Something I found with my XP (Home version)...When I set up my computer, I didn't have it connected to the internet. I wanted to provide an administrator password before connecting. So, when I had the option to activate XP, I skipped it (I wasn't connected yet). After I connected to the internet, I never had the option to activate. I went through a lot of checking and finally found that when I first connected to the internet, XP AUTOMATICALLY activated itself! Without telling me.

So, if you follow rjkrash's suggestion about finding it in system tools....don't be suprised if you get the response that you are already activated.

Thanks guys! I will test this out when I get back to work next week. I really appreciate the help, see ya later!

Just call up the activation procedure:

Just enter:
Win+R (to get a RUN dialog)
oobe/msoobe /a

This will show you if you are already registered; and if not, it asks you to do so, or just to give you a reminder every few days; it also tells you how much time you have left. (from the initial 60, 30 or whatever other number of days are available).
