How to extract dual layer iso image

I was sent a dual layer iso image disc with several software applications on it. I've never dealt with iso before. How do I extract so I can use the individual software applications? I am using with XP Pro.

ISO images are just exact copies of a source media. The source is usually a CD/DVD.

The normal process is to get a Burning application and have it burn the ISO image back onto a CD/DVD, the application should be able to expand the image and recreate the source onto The CD/DVD so you can access it normally.

Nero, Roxio, etc.. can do that.

Just use their Copy feature and point the source of the copy to the ISO file instead of a physical drive.

Since you mention dual-layer, I assume the image is for a DVD. If you plan on burning that particular image, you will need dual-layer media and a burner capable of burning dual-layer. Most, if not all, current DVDs support dual-layer.

or mount it, search for "virtual CD" on google, e.g. recent Nero has a virtual CD/DVD app in its suite...

You can also extract the contents of ISO files using WinRar.
