How to enable USB Mass Storage

My PC admin has disabled the USB Mass Storage. Plug in a USB flash drive and it won't show up in My Computer. The device manager shows the drive with a yellow mark. Trying to reinstall driver leads to access denied message -- I do have local admin right.

How can I enable the USB flash drive?

Hello,

Right click >> "My Computer"
>> "manage"
>> "Disk Management"

Make sure your "USB Flash Drive" is listed and isn't listed as a network drive. If so change drive letter to a safe alternative. Disregard warning. Should autoplay.

Sounds like your IT guys have locked down the USB ports (we do the same). If they use the same software we do then you can't enable it.

Ever thought they have locked it down for a reason?
Have you asked your IT Department for help?
I doubt if anyone will help you hack the system. If they do and they get sued, well it's their own fault.

Nope. I can easily upload files to some websites if I choose to. It is a stupid idea that locking down the USB port will stop a thief.
