Allow More Than Two Simultaneous Downloads in Internet Explorer
If you have a fast Internet connection and you're into downloads, you're probably frustrated with the two simultaneous download limit enforced by Internet Explorer. The hard coded limit was placed there because it made sense in the days of the analog modem. Now that more and more people have access to fast connections, who wants to be limited to just two downloads at the same time? Here's how you get around the problem:
1. Click Start and then click the Run command.
2. Type regedit in the Open text box and click OK.
3. Navigate to the following Registry Key:
HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
4. In the Registry Editor, click the Edit menu, point to New and then click DWORD Value.
5. Replace the New Value #1 entry with MaxconnectionsPer1_0Server. Double click that value. In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, type 0000000a.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5. Except this time name the value MaxConnectionsPerServer.
7. Close the Registry Editor and close all Internet Explorer windows.
