how to display legends in the table report 1

Hi,

Here is the report want to display.

In place of Green, I need to display some symbol with Green color..How this will be possible? and all status fields should display at the bottom as legends? Please provide your comments.

You can use an Alerts to color the cell you are talking about.

As for a legend at the bottom, you have to do that manually. Just build a little table and format it the way you want.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your response.

I can able to display Bmp Files in the Report. But, when Iam saving the Report to an Excel it is saving, not able to visible any contents in the excel. It is showing blank sheet. The other reports which doesn't have BMP files can able to save as excel and view it.

Is BO having this limitation or Is there any way we can view BMP Files into excel files?

You cannot include BMPs in your excel exports. It simply isn't possible.

However, you should be able to see the rest of the data. I'll try it. In fact, BO provides some sample Efashion reports that have a logo in them. They seem to work OK.

2 questions:
1) What version are you using
2) How is your .bmp in the report. Is it a formula or is is actually embedded.

1. Iam using BO6.5
2. There is a feature in 6.5 Defining objects in BO. You have to define the .bmp objects while you design the universe.

I have to question what my client is lookin from BO.

1. We have one column with size varchar2(4000). It is not always 4000 characters. Client wants, In each row the column size should be exactly fitted. Is the BO tool will supprort this feature..I know word wrap and manually adjusting the column format..Is there any feature other than this?

2. I can able to generate the reports with .bmp in thick client. When accessing WEBi, it is not shoing .bmp files in the report. Instead it is showing the path of the file. When I had given the path in the run mode it is opening.
Is .bmp won't support in thin client?

1. Yes. There is a feature called row-by-row autofit.

2. You are doing your images incorrectly. Don't do insert-picture. Use Insert Object. Choose the From File option. You don't want your image to be a formula. You want you image to be embedded in the report.

2. Iam not inserting pictures in my report. Based on the project status(Green, Yello and Red), the report should dynamically pickup the color of the bitmap.
I can able to do using Thick Client. When Iam doing with WEBi the bitmaps are not displaying. When I saved into excel or pdf the bitmaps are not saving. If you are not understood my question, I can give you with an example. Let me know.

Why are you using bitmaps at all. Just create a table and use alerts to assign the colors.

Bitmaps do not ever export to Excel.
