How to disable Outlook/OL Express email capabilities?

We would like to disable the email capabilities out Outlook on our users desktops to ensure they use the more secure GroupWise as their email client while retaining any client information they may have in Outlook. I am trying to figure out if there are any registry settings that can be modified to disable the ability for Outlook to send and receive email. Anyone have the answer out there?
