I am trying to connect to the Server via direct connection to the Call Pilot to access the administration menu with a laptop (laptop has the admin client application). Is this possible? If so, how do I go about it? I did all the settings but it still did not work. Any ideas?? If you can do a step by step guide, I would really appreciate it. Note: Customer does not have a modem connected to COM1, the CP is not connected to the CLAN.

Thanks,

If you have CP 1.07, this requires a PPP connection for the client to speak with the server.

You say the server isn't connected to the CLAN, but you can temporarily plug your laptop into the ELAN and assign yourself an IP address on the ELAN subnet and communicate with the server that way.

If you have CP 2.0+, you can just use the server IE to do your administration. If you're planning on using AppBuilder then you'll need an IP connection since there's no modem connected to the CP server.

if you look at the ipconfig of any pc/server, you can direct connect by using that devices's default gateway as your ip and their ip as you default gateway. then use either a rolled data cable or a hub
