How to Determine Whether Flash Plugin in Use and Report?

On a website I'm developing that uses Flash, I would like to direct anyone whose computer does not have Flash Player 6 or above installed to a page on my site that tells them they need that plugin and gives them the Macromedia link to click on to download the plugin if they wish.

What Javascript or other code is currently recommended for most effectively accomplishing that task?
