I am using DreamWeaver and has several buggy pages to debug. It's a pain in the neck to keep submitting to the server to test and run. Is it possible to run or debug these pages on my local computer?

Say all my files and database are place in a folder called MYFOLDER, and there is a subfolder called CONNECTIONS containing all the files for database connection setup. What else do I need to run it locally or is this idea feasible at all? Thanks for any opinion and input.

if you are running Win2k pro/svr or XP pro (not Home) you can install IIS and run it as localhost.

Chris.

Indifference will be the downfall of mankind, but who cares?

Thanks for the info. Could you briefly tell me how to install IIS?

Frank

Add Remove Programs->Windows Componets and look there for IIS or Web Service or something like that.

I went in and found the IIS was already installed on my machine, probably by someone who set up my network. I did not know about it.

How to run my computer as a local host? Thanks again.

Frank

go to your browser and type
or 127.0.0.1

if a default page comes up then you're running

place all your fiels in the directory or create a virtual directory and use a shared directory on the machine to test pages
