Hi DBAs,

is there any automatic statistics available (besides Oracle tracing) in Oracle 8/8i which counts the times a certain index has been used - if a table has some of them, the useless ones can be eliminated quite fast especially if there are plenty (100+) of different queries run against that table ???

Why I don't like to use the Oracle trace is because in that special case the tracefile would get quite big because I have to trace many more or less complex statements to get the whole information.
Kind regards and thank you for your hints
