Hi
does someone know how to convert .rpt file to .dsr files
so i can tak advantage of drs file capabilities like
showing a Picture at run-time using LoadPicture of VB .Net
using
Crystal Report for VB .Net
Thanks

You can do the same with .rpt files in you like. You are still using the RDC no matter the form of the report.

Nice advantages of .dsr is that they compile into the .exe to there is some report security (bad if you need to modify the report 'cuz you will need to modify in source, recompile and redeploy the app) and you needn't flip in and out of the IDE to work on the report.

You should be able to do what you like, by adding a new .dsr to your project and then open your existing .rpt file via the .dsr menus. This will import and save just the report structure.

Hi surfingGecko
thanks for your reply
but the main reason to which i want to go for dsr option is that i am not being able to Load picture at run-time
My picture is saved as pathname in DB
and i know i can do this with dsr but not sure how i can do it with same in Crystal Report .rpt file in VB.Net?
Thanks
