Hi, I'm desparate right now. I usually use InDesign to creat PDF, but this time I have to do it from Quark. Well, I have 2 problems:
1) How do you convert? - I currently use Adobe Distiller
2) It's Japanese and I tried everything to embed fonts, but even in my PC (Japanese) all fonts are jagged on screen. I checked on the box to embed all the fonts. Does
Quark except TrueType and OpenType? I don't have any PS fonts, I guess. There is a box asking "as bitmap" or "outline", but if I choose "outline" there comes up an error!

This PDF will be opened and printed in English PC. But even before that, the fonts are even jagged in my PC.

Please help me if anybody knows how to solve these problems.

Try this:
Go to print, tab to setup, in printer discription select adobe distiller, add page size select output and check resolution, then click printer on bottem left. For printer settings select Adobe PDF- job options select screen embed or however you do it. Click PDF settings- Postscript settings, Format Postcsript level 12&3, Font inclusion All.
Hope this helps you

Thom

Life without challenges can be very boring

As an alternate that I've had to do on occasion, go to the file menu in Quark and choose 'Save Page as EPS...' and then place the resulting eps into InDesign as it makes much better pdf's.
