how to convert a .xls file to pipe delimited text file

Help!!!!

I have a excel file...

when i "save as" to a .txt file, there is no delimiter.

when i "save as" to a .csv file, it is still a speadsheet.

how am i able to save it as a pipe delimited ascii file?

When you did the "Save As", which of the two .csv file types did you use?

CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv), or
CSV (MS-DOS) (*.csv)

Or, did the CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv) file type not work in this instance?
