We have a IP500 with embedded vm. I try to configure voicemail to eamil function. It doesn't work properly. I always receive a return email in manager box(aa@company.com) says the address is not existing, which put a + in front of the real address (+bb@company.com)

SYSTEM?SMTP
aa@company.com

User
voicemail email: bb@company.com

Did you have a look here?

are you saying that you are using aa@company.com as a smtp address?

should be an ip or fqdn. if fqdn you need to have dns entry. You also need an ip route if going outside of you lan.

right I use aa@company.com as a smtp address and I have dsn programed, and ip route.

the message in aa box looks like:
Undeliverable: Voicemail Message (AA>Aa W) From:241
System Administrator
To:bb

The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.

I did reboot the IPO. I believe IPO try to send email though aa box to bb box, but it add a + in front of bb address. I wonder where that + come from?

Around 3.2, VMPro email reading via TTS was enabled via a + symbol in front of the user's email address. That was then replace by a separate 'Voicemail Email Reading' checkbox but I wouldn't be at all surprised that the same mechanism is used behind the scene. Check that you have got the 'Voicemail Email Reading' box checked since that isn't supported with Embedded Voicemail anyway.

well I meant to say "check that you have NOT got the 'Voicemail Email Reading' box checked" but I'm sure you got the idea.

Any joy?

to sizbut:
I didn't check 'Voicemail Email Reading' box initially. after read your reply, I try check it and reboot, then I cannot received anything :)

So that's not it, was worth checking since it was a scenario where +signs were used by the IP Office. Back to pondering where on earth they can be coming from (unless it a bug).

Are you on 4.2.4 ?
Before that it is not working on embedded vm !!!

It is IP500 4.2(4) with all sort of license. Our company's demo.

i would try an alternative smtp and see if it is an internal problem before going any futher...

Our company just have one email server. Email From Address is set to my email address. Try to send voicemail to my colleague's email address. What else can I try?

When I receive the bounced back email I feel quite exciting. It is close, at least the embedded vm generate a email and SMTP server got it.

This sounds like a you need the setting on the Email to "allow third partys to send on your behalf" or something like that, doesn't explain why it used to work though.
